Your thoughts and ideas for positive change in the world are welcome at  100 THOUSAND POETS FOR CHANGE. Held at WriterHouse, 508 Dale Avenue, Charlottesville Va. 22902 from 4 to 6 p.m.  Saturday, 9-28-2019. Come to listen or to read poetry. Light refreshments. Readers are recorded and archived at Stanford University. Part of an annual global event shared around the world.

Lingering in the Margins

Sunday, 9-29-2019 2 to 4 p.m. The editors of Lingering in the Margins: A River City Poets Anthology discuss the creative process and publication of their recently released anthology published by Chop Suey Books. Readings by eight contributors.  The book grew from three women’s love of poetry. Their humble idea was to offer an opportunity for fledgling poets in their community to be published. Two years and two hundred poetry submissions later, Lingering in the Margins represents the unique voice of over 50 poets, both new and experienced.
